May holiday at Lake EPIC
In earlier blog posts, I already wrote about Lake EPIC – Evangelical Poland Impact Center.
At the beginning of 2025, the Pro Novis foundation was able to purchase this beautiful location by a lake just outside Poznań, with a very clear vision. Soon afterward, in the summer of 2025, Bread of Life was able to organize the first full-scale children’s camp there after the purchase, for around 60 children of Ukrainian refugees. At the time, that seemed like quite a separate event.
But since Tatiana and I have been involved full-time with EP since the end of March, we are once again spending time at Lake EPIC. And now very regularly. Because a lot of hard work is happening there!

Not only because the first camps, retreats, weekends, conferences, etc. were already being held soon after the purchase, but certainly also because immediately a process of adapting, renovating, renewing, and expanding began. Because why would such a beautiful location be for sale? Naturally, because of the previous owner’s lack of vision and, as a result, the obvious deferred maintenance. This process of transformation is being carried out both by professional contractors and by various “short-term mission teams,” mostly connected to churches in the US, with whom EP has been able to build relationships over the years — yes indeed, through Andrzej Górski as fundraiser.

But is it really hard work…? During the short May holiday, because also then Americans were doing renovation work there, Tatiana and I were again “on duty” as host and hostess. Simply by being there for them. A bit of talking, a bit of sitting by the water, some canoeing on the lake, and above all, simply enjoying it all!
What a privilege!
